General Eye Care

How often should I have an eye exam?

We recommend a comprehensive eye exam once a year for most people. If you have vision problems, wear contacts or glasses, or have a health condition like diabetes, you may need exams more frequently.

What’s the difference between a vision screening and a comprehensive eye exam?

A vision screening is a basic test that checks for obvious vision issues, while a comprehensive eye exam evaluates your overall eye health and can detect conditions like glaucoma, cataracts, and retinal disease—often before symptoms appear.

What are the signs I may need an eye exam?

Blurry vision, headaches, eye strain, difficulty seeing at night, or trouble focusing are all signs it’s time to schedule an exam.

Family & Pediatric Eye Care

At what age should my child have their first eye exam?

Children should have their first eye exam at 6 months, again at age 3, and before starting school—around age 5 or 6.

Can you examine children who aren’t able to read yet?

Yes! We use special charts and tools to assess vision in infants and toddlers, even if they can’t speak or recognize letters.

Do you provide vision care for seniors?

Absolutely. We specialize in senior eye care, including monitoring and managing age-related conditions like macular degeneration, glaucoma, and cataracts.

Specialized & Advanced Care

Do you treat eye diseases like glaucoma or macular degeneration?

Yes. We provide advanced diagnostic tools and ongoing care for a range of conditions, including glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetic eye disease, and more.

Can you help with eye emergencies?

Absolutely. If you experience sudden vision loss, eye pain, flashes of light, or foreign objects in the eye, call us right away—we offer same-day emergency care.

Appointments & Office Visits

How long does a typical eye exam take?

A comprehensive eye exam usually takes 30 to 60 minutes, depending on your needs and whether you’re a new patient.

Do I need to bring anything to my appointment?

Please bring your insurance card, a list of any medications, your current glasses or contact lenses, and any questions you have for the doctor.

Will my eyes be dilated during the exam?

In many cases, yes. Dilation allows us to better examine the health of your retina and optic nerve. We’ll let you know if it’s necessary during your visit.

Eyewear & Contact Lenses

Can I get my glasses or contacts prescription the same day?

Yes! In most cases, you’ll receive your updated prescription right after your exam. We also offer in-office eyewear selection and fittings.

Do you offer contact lens fittings?

Yes, we provide fittings and training for first-time wearers, including specialty lenses for astigmatism, dry eyes, or multifocal needs.

Can I wear contacts if I have dry eyes?

Yes! We offer specialized contact lenses and solutions for patients with dry eyes. We’ll help you find the most comfortable option.

Insurance & Payment

Do you accept my insurance?

We accept most major vision and medical insurance plans. Call us or check our website’s insurance section for a full list.

What if I don’t have vision insurance?
